Peach picking with my boys

Some days are filled with such simple little novelties, such as picking peaches from your backyard tree. Once again we have not pruned or sprayed and have still gotten a few nice peaches. Next year, oh that WILL be the year we do things right! I am so in awe of these little moment we get to spend together as a family and try not to take them for granted. Liam was mighty proud of his peach, he just had to express such, with his little tongue.

at our home...

so those room shots are the bear cubs room! to the untrained eye it doesn't look like much, but it is,  and is continuing to be. 4 new( safe) outlets, an overhead light and switch (soon to be fan and light), trim, and prep for painting. hopefully in the next month or so, i will have a mostly finished room for the showing!

chips loves when we make the bed. it's his favorite activity. he hides out under the covers for quite some time. who can blame him, i think its most comfy too!

we took a short bike ride the other day. it was nice to get out again. i've only gotten out a few times to ride this season and may only get a few more times before giving birth... so i'm trying to relish in those moments.

that's whats been going on lately... in the near future i hope to plant the flowers i recently got, wash the rest of the windows, take many walks on the trail, go to a craft bazaar with my sister, make some more wipes and burp cloths, and savor these moments with jason, while its just the two of us a little longer.

the curiosities of a kitty cat

lets talk about chips shall we. after all, he is our dearly beloved friend, who will probably get a little overlooked in all the talk of coming baby. this rug in our bedroom is his new most favorite place to sleep. this changes every so often. he's a seasons sort of cat. we are delighted that he's taken to the corner of the rug for sleeping, seeing as he might have to share that rug someday.
chips is an outdoor cat at heart. he started out his life that way, until three months later he came to live, indoors with us. we still like to let him and his outdoor spirit get some fresh air from time to time. he is always perplexed by snow. we enjoy that fact  a little to much!

then there is this truly curious obsession with our air conditioner piece. i was cleaning out the  closet one day and he instantly goes and nuzzles up with this fine looking piece of metal. he was infatuated, rubbing up all around it and sleeping on top of it. he even made a little fit when we took it away. we soon brought it out and the love affair continued. he's a strange one, but the best one for us!

warm fuzzies

when you've had a frustrating weekend, its the little surprises that can make all the difference.
jason took the above picture of chips. it melts my heart.
these beautiful mittens are from one of my customers at work. i waitress at a local restaurant
( the cause of my frustrating weekend) this woman , whose name i could not tell you, made these for me. she says to me," you know certain people in your life become special and you are one of those people." she hands me a little wrapped package, and tellS me to go put them away. she doesn't want to make a big deal about her kindness. i smile, say thank you and tell her she is special too. its moments like these that get you through a day that's been particularly trying. to see the genuine loving and caring of people. its inspiring!

hide away sundays

last evening we had indian for dinner and i remembered we had mango in the freezer! feeling inspired for and indian themed dessert, i threw some mango in the food processor to make a mango sauce to go with frozen yogurt. yum. there's only one problem with all of this...
CHIPS our cat. he loves food and being still a kitten and new to our house, thinks all food we have must be for him to enjoy. he gets right up in your face or food, to which we swat him away.

so we took our mango sundays and retreated to the bedroom, to enjoy our food in peace.
this isn't a normal occurrence and hopefully chips will begin to understand to leave our food alone! all the same we felt a little sneaky and adventurous eating our ice cream in bed, and chips on the other side of the door.
